What about Cuba?
What about Cuba?
Cuba is a county located in North America. Cuba is the principal island, which is surrounded by four main groups of islands.
Narciso López created the Cuban flag. The Cuban flag is blue and white striped with a red triangle and a white star.
The population in Cuba is 11,392,889 people.
The only cars that Cuban citizens can own legally are cars created and brought before 1959. After this year, the Cuban government seized all of the cars, and owns them all to this day.
Cuba has a 99.8% literacy rate, which is one of the highest in the world. Dance is very important in Cuba, the birthplace of classic dance styles like the Bolero, Mambo and Cha Cha.
Cuba is competing in the 2016 Olympics. They have 116 competitors. Their best sports are wrestling, with two golds and judo, with one silver. The Olympic sports Cuba competes in are women's discus throw, men's 110m hurdles, women's 400m hurdles, beach volleyball, men's triple jump, women's 200m, women's kayak single 200m, wrestling, track cycling and boxing,
In Cuba they have a problem with water pollution. It's caused by industrial and urban wastes that are dumped into the sea. Over 250 rivers in Cuba are polluted but the Communist government there doesn’t want to admit it. The people don’t know about the pollution because the government keeps it a secret.
One solution Cuba has tried is to install 703 slow-sand filters and an equal number of containers for the filtered water. This cleans the water and makes it safe for people to use.
Cuba needs to come up with a new idea to fix the problem of water pollution or marine life could die and people could get ill. There won’t be enough clean water for everyone to survive.
